The Jacksonville Jaguars (6-8, 6-7-1 ATS, 8-6 O/U) take on the New York Jets (7-7, 8-6 ATS, 5-9 O/U) in an AFC showdown on Thursday night. The Jaguars won an overtime decision against the Cowboys last week. The Jets are looking to rebound from a disappointing home loss by the Lions. New York posted a 26-21 home win against Jacksonville last season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are seeking a third consecutive victory. They were down 21-7 at the half and rallied to force overtime and defeat the Cowboys by a 40-34 score last week in a game that had the Jags labeled as four-point dogs. Jacksonville has been competitive recently fueled by the improved offense. They recorded a recent win against the Ravens and a road win against the Titans within the last month. The Jags have covered the spread in three out of their last four games.

Trevor Lawrence continues to dazzle. The 23-year-old QB has eclipsed 300 passing yards in three out of his last four games including 318 last week. The Clemson product has progressed compared to his rookie season. Lawrence has collected a stellar 3520 passing yards complemented by a 24:7 TD to INT ratio on the season. He is dealing with a toe injury and is considered question able but has played through it the last few weeks.

Travis Etienne rushed for 103 yards last week and has now reached 100 rushing yards on four occasions. The 23-year-old RB has accrued 917 rushing yards on 4.5 yards per carry. Christian Kirk has brought in 17 receptions in his last three performances. The 26-year-old WR leads the squad with 966 receiving yards. The Jacksonville offense is looking good, collecting at least 28 points in three out of their last four clashes.

The Jaguars' defense has struggled recently. They squandered 40 points against the Lions earlier this month and 397 yards last week. The unit is vulnerable against the pass. They allowed 256 passing yards last week and are marked 29th in pass defense and 16th against the run. Jacksonville is scoring an average of 23.9 points, ranking them 12th. They are conceding an average of 23.4 points, placing them 21st in the NFL.
