Pitt has won seven of its past eight games, including victories over Northwestern and NC State, after dropping three of its first four. The lone loss was a one-point defeat at Vanderbilt. Sophomore center Federiko Federiko scored 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and blocked three shots. Junior forward Blake Hinson added 18 points and six boards, senior guard Jamarius Burton scored 13, and senior guard Greg Elliott contributed 11 points, ten rebounds, and four steals.

This season, Pitt is scoring 75.1 points per game, shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three-point range. Its offensive efficiency rating, adjusted for schedule, is ranked 59th in the nation, per KenPom. Pitt's assist-to-turnover ratio (1.07) is ranked 107th.
