St. Louis Blues (15-15-1) vs. Vancouver Canucks (13-14-3)

The 2022-23 NHL season continues Monday, December 19, with the Western Conference battle between the St. Louis Blues and Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

St. Louis and Vancouver start their three-game regular-season series, and the Blues aim for their fourth consecutive victory over the Canucks. It’s a pick ‘em contest with a total of 6.5 goals, so let’s take a closer look.

The St. Louis Blues are riding a three-game winning streak. After a 1-0 overtime victory against the Nashville Predators at home, the Blues have recorded a couple of road wins over the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in a shootout and the Calgary Flames 5-2.

It was a tough back-to-back set in Canada, and the Blues’ offense finally got things going. St. Louis overcame a two-goal third-period deficit at Edmonton and notched five goals on just 24 shots at Calgary. Jordan Binnington patrolled the crease against the Oilers, while Thomas Greiss posted a thumping 41 saves against the Flames.

“We’re just playing very hard. Great team game,” Greiss said after a huge win in Calgary. “They ha d a lot of shots but I think around the net we played really hard and didn’t give them really any rebounds.”

The Blues score 2.97 goals per game (22nd in the NHL) and are 18-for-85 with the man advantage (20th). They rank 27th in the league in goals against (3.65 per game) and 30th in penalty-killing percentage (68.5%). Jordan Binnington is 11-11-1 with a 3.21 GAA and .894 save percentage, while Thomas Greiss is 4-4-0 with a 3.50 GAA and .906 SV%.
