Best NHL player prop bets for Sunday, 12/18

After a nice 2-0 night and 4-1 in our last 5 player props, let’s cap the weekend off strong. We’re down to just 5 games today; however, that's more than enough opportunities to target individual skaters to perform. There are some matchups that look destined to be more defensive, such as the Penguins vs Hurricanes and Jets vs Kraken. With that in mind, we're going to stay away from those games (unless of course you enjoy rooting for unders). Instead, we've found ideal candidates that should show out with their matchups, so let's dive in.'

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Nazem Kadri over 0.5 points (-140)

Nazem Kadri is a skater we targeted quite often last season as a member of the Colorado Avalanche, as he played a major role in them going on to hoist the Stanley Cup. While it took some time to gel with his new team in Calgary, he's been heating up with the Flames. He and Jonathan Huberdeau, formerly of the Florida Panthers, have hit their stride with Elias Lindholm to form a solid trio. It was Lindholm who recorded 2 assists in the Flames most recent game, and we're anticipating Kadri to have his big night tonight.'

Despite being on the road, he and the rest of Calgary have one of the best matchups of the day. They'll be San Jose to take on the Sharks, who will be on the second night of a back-to-back. They already allow the 8th-most goals per game, so having a backup goaltender in net certainly won't help. No matter which of their 4 goalies they put between the pipes, they all have losing records so far this season. Although it was with the Avs, Kadri also feasted on the Sharks last season. He recorded 6 points across 3 games against them, 4 of which were assists. Teammate Tyler Toffoli looks due for a goal, and it could be Kadri that assists him in doing so.'

Adam Fox over 0.5 assists (-130)
