Detroit Mercy knows that Horizon League play is just around the corner and they need to get things cranked up before league play starts. The Titans have lost two out of their last three games coming into this matchup in Eastern Michigan. In their last game, played a week ago prior to school finals week, Detroit Mercy fell in overtime, 82-80, at Charlotte. The Titans exchanged leads with Charlotte throughout the game and led by two with less than two minutes to go in overtime before Charlotte took the lead for good with a 3-pt field goal. Antoine Davis made history in the game by reaching the 3,000 career point mark in the contest and also tied his own school record with 10 3pt field goals in the game. He finished with 36 points, including 10-of-17 from long distance. Gerald Liddell added 13 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds in the loss. Overall, Detroit Mercy his 17 3pt field goals, one short of the school record.

Detroit Mercy is averaging nearly 75 points per game this season but they are giving up over 76 points per game. They are shooting just 42% from the field overall while allowing the opposition to shoot 46%. The key to their game is the long ball, as the Titans average over 10 triples per game while shooting the 3-ball at 39%. Unfortunately, they are susceptible to the 3pt shot as well, giving up nine per contest and allowing the opposition to shoot it at 39%. They do out-rebound opposing teams, but barely at just a +0.1 differential on the season.
