New Orleans Pelicans (18-10) vs. Phoenix Suns (17-12)

The New Orleans Pelicans head to Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday night to wrap up their four-game regular-season set against the Phoenix Suns. The Pels lead the series 2-1, outlasting the Suns twice in December, while Phoenix defeated New Orleans 124-111 at home back in October.

New Orleans is without Bradon Ingram (20.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG), who’ll miss his tenth straight game due to a toe injury. On the other side, Phoenix misses Cameron Johnson (knee), while both Deandre Ayton (ankle) and Cameron Payne (foot) are questionable to play.

The New Orleans Pelicans (18-10; 15-13 ATS) put an end to their seven-game winning streak last Tuesday, suffering a heavy 121-100 defeat as 2-point road favorites at the Utah Jazz. A couple of days later, the Pelicans lost at Utah 132-129 in overtime, playing as 1.5-point road favorites. It seemed the Pels will get revenge in Salt Lake City, as they had a 13-point lead midway through the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough.

Zion Williamson dropped 31 points on the Jazz last Thursday. He also had eight rebounds, eight assists, and a couple of blocks. CJ McCollum accounted for 28 points and four dishes, while Larry Nance Jr. and Naji Marshall notched 13 points apiece. The Pelicans shot 47.5% from the field (12-for-30 from deep) and posted a 24/18 assist-to-turnover ratio.

& #x201C;The effort was there a lot more than two nights ago,” Williamson said. “Just too many turnovers in crucial parts of the game.”

The Pelicans occupy the second spot in the Western Conference, one game behind the Memphis Grizzlies. New Orleans ranks fifth in the league in adjusted offensive efficiency (115.4 points per 100 possessions) and fourth in adjusted defensive efficiency (109.9). The Pels make 48.4% of their field goals (6th in the NBA) and 36.2% of their 3-pointers (12th). They take just 30.1 attempts from deep per game (29th).
