The Nashville Predators face the Colorado Avalanche with both teams looking to improve from rocky starts to the season. The Predators have a 12-12-4 record and have lost five games in a row while the Avalanche have a 15-11-2 record and are in the middle of the Central Division. Both teams are looking to improve within the Central Division and the Western Conference and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Predators are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.46 goals per game with only eight goals in the last five games. Filip Forsberg, Matt Duchene, and Mikael Granlund have scored 19 goals and 47 assists while defenseman Roman Josi is adding six goals and 17 assists from the point but the rest of the offense has struggled, Only three skaters have seven goals or more while only four skaters have nine assists or more and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has let the Predators down but the defense has also struggled, allowing 3.07 goals per game. Roman Josi and Mattias Ekholm have combined for 3.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Juuse Saros who has a .910 save percentage and a 2.88 goals-against average on 658 shots.
