UCLA fell to 3-2 this season after two lackluster losses to Illinois and Baylor earlier this season. Since then, the Bruins have found their stride and have won six straight games. In their last outing, the Bruins hit the road and blasted the #20 Maryland Terrapins out of the Big Ten, 87-60. UCLA led by as many as 30 points in the first half and finished the first half with a 49-20 lead. UCLA's 27-point win over a ranked opponent was their largest over a ranked program since March of 2000. Four players finished in double figures for the Bruins with Jaylen Clark leading the way with 19 points. David Singleton added 18-points, including 3-0f-4 from long range and Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Adem Bona added 14 points in the run-away victory. The Bruins defense forced 16 turnovers in the game while committing just four themselves.

“Our goal was to play great defense, hold them to one shot, take care of the ball,” said Mick C ronin, UCLA Men's Head Basketball Coach. “If we take care of the ball, we have plenty of guys who can score. Talent isn't an issue for us, all we have to do is not turn it over. Tonight, our mind was on defense for the first time in a long time. It's the hardest thing, to keep things grounded.”

The Bruins are scoring 81.8 points per game while giving up just 63 per game. They are shooting an impressive 50% from the field overall and 37% from 3pt range. UCLA is an average rebounding team, pulling down 34 rebounds per contest for +3.2 rebounding differential this season. They move the ball well, averaging 16.5 assists per game and only turn the ball over 9.6 times per game. The Bruins are forcing 17.5 turnovers per contest.
