The Orlando Magic travel to the TD Garden to do battle with the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
The Orlando Magic have been on a nice run as they will be aiming for a season-high fifth straight victory after blowing past the struggling Hawks in a 135-124 home win on Wednesday. Franz Wagner led the team with 24 points, Bol Bol added 21 points on seven of 13 shooting while Paolo Banchero tallied 20 points with six rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Magic shot 50 percent from the field and 16 of 36 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 50 points in the first quarter to build an early 29-point lead which allowed them to cruise in the second half. It was a real balanced offense as the Magic had a total of eight players finish in double figures in scoring.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been in great shape as they’ve won nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Lakers in a 122-118 overtime road win on Tuesday. Jayson Tatum led the way with 44 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Jaylen Brown added 25 points with 15 rebounds and five assists while Marcus Smart chipped in with 18 points and six assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 44 percent from the field and 19 of 48 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half and led by as many as 20 points, but they never put away the Lakers and had to rally again in overtime to escape with the narrow victory in the end.
