The Kansas City Chiefs remain the #2 seed in the AFC after surviving a scare at Denver on Sunday afternoon with a 34-28 win. The win was the Chiefs 8th straight win at Denver and their 14th straight overall vs. the Broncos. It looked like it was going to be an easy day for the Chiefs after jumping out to a 27-0 lead. Patrick Mahomes threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns but had a rare off-day with three interceptions. Running back Jerick McKinnon had two of Mahomes' three touchdowns on the day including grabbing a no-look pass and turning it into a touchdown. The Chiefs have now won at least 10 games for eight straight seasons and are on the verge of their seventh consecutive AFC West Crown, leading the second place Chargers by three games with just four to play. They have also won an unprecedented 15 straight road games vs. AFC West opponents.

“First off, I think it is really cool [with] the stadiums an d the fan bases that we get to go to. If you look at our division, the stadiums and the fan bases are top notch. You know when you go, it is going to be loud, and it is going to be at an awesome stadium. You are going to have to play your best football to win. I did just enough today against a really good defense to win. I mean they have a really good defense. We focus on those teams all offseason, Denver, the Chargers and the Raiders. We try to game plan for them and we try to execute at a high level.” Mahomes told the media after the game.

The Chiefs are, of course, one of the best offensive teams in football. Mahomes is on pace to once again compete for a league MVP with 33 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions. He is also third on the team in rushing and is averaging a team-best six yards per carry. The Chiefs have the #2 scoring offense in the NFL and the #5 offense in the red zone. They have the 18th best rushing attack in the league and the #1 passing attack in the league. They have the league's #1 offense overall. Uncharacteristically, the Chiefs are just 27th in turnover differential.

Key Injuries: The Chiefs WR group may see a bump this week as both Kadarius Toney and Mecole Hardman may be ready to go on Sunday.
