The Los Angeles Rams leave the climate controlled surrounding of SoFi Stadium and head to the frozen tundra of Green Bay, Wisconsin to take on the Packers on Monday night. The injury-riddled Rams come into the game at 5-9 and led by Baker Mayfield at quarterback. Mayfield is coming off a stellar performance that led to a thrilling Rams victory on Thursday night just days after being picked up by LA. Green Bay still has a slight chance to make the playoffs with a 5-8 record and coming off a bye week. Aaron Rodgers will make the start at quarterback despite suffering a rib injury in the loss to the Eagles two weeks ago. The opening kick is scheduled for 8:15pm EST.

Baker Mayfield has had a tumultuous couple of seasons after it appeared the former #1 pick was ready to be one of the new darlings of the NFL. Last season, he struggled mightily in the Browns offense, the team failed to make the playoffs and he was shipped off to the Panthers when the Browns decided to move on at quarterback. With the Panthers, Mayfield was never able to establish a foothold on the starting job and was released heading into week 13. Claimed off waivers by the Rams just days before their Thursday night game, it seemed like a long shot that Mayfield would take the field. After the Rams' first drive ended in a punt, not only did Mayfield take the field, he led them to a come-from-behind win over the Raiders, 17-16. Mayfield went 22-of-35 for 230 yards and engineered two fourth quarter touchdown drives, the last one culminating in a 23-yard touchdown pass to Van Jefferson with just 10 seconds left in the game.

“I don’t know if you could write it any better than that,” Mayfield said. “Obviously, we’d like to be a little bit more stress-free, but it’s a pretty damn good story, I’ll be honest with you.”

What will the Rams and Baker Mayfield do for an encore as they head to the wintery conditions of Green Bay? Mayfield has another week under his belt learning the Rams offense but still faces the daunting challenge of doing it without some of the team's best playmakers. Starting wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson II remain on injured reserve and the Rams defense will again likely be without star DT Aaron Donald along with linebackers Terrell Lewis and Travin Howard. CB David Long Jr. is also questionable for the Rams. LA will likely have to win this one on the strength of Mayfield's arm again as the team's ground attack is ranked 30th in the NFL.
