The Minnesota Timberwolves invade the crypto.com Arena to take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to stop a two-game skid after getting thrashed by the Trail Blazers in a 133-112 road loss on Monday. D’Angelo Russell led the team with 23 points and eight assists, Anthony Edwards and Jaylen Nowell each scored 17 points, while Rudy Gobert tallied 16 points with 20 rebounds on eight of 13 shooting. As a team, the Wizards shot 49 percent from the field and 10 of 27 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by 11 points at halftime and by as many as 27 points at one stage as they just had no answer for the Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard who scorched them for 11 3-pointers.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past five games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after routing the Celtics in a 113-93 win on Monday. Paul George led the way with 26 points, Kawhi Leonard added 25 points with nine rebounds and six assists while Marcus Morris chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 25 from the 3-point line as they kept a lid on the Celtics from the start and outscored them in every quarter. Leonard was particularly switched on as he shot 10 of 12 from the field while playing just 29 minutes.
