The Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Fenway Park. In the first game of this series, it was the Braves that were able to secure the 9-7 victory in extra innings.
The Braves come into this game with a 65-46 record overall, but they have struggled a bit as of late. In the last series against the New York Mets they lost four of the five games before turning it around on Tuesday against the Red Sox. Austin Riley has been a top player for the Braves all season and he was the difference maker on Tuesday finishing with three hits and driving in five RBIs.
On the other side of this matchup is the Red Sox who sit with a 54-57 record overall. At this point of the season, there isn’t much hope for making the playoffs, and now it’s just about building the momentum for next year. The Red Sox’s offense overall has been the strength averaging 4.51 runs per game which is 12th in the league. The real strength has been Rafael Devers and he has hit 24 home runs and driven in 60 RBIs.
