The Columbus Blue Jackets (10-15-2) rounded off their latest three-game homestand with a 2-1-0 record after bagging their second consecutive victory following a 6-5 overtime triumph against the Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide Arena on Sunday. The Jackets saw their 2-0, 3-2 and 5-3 leads wiped out before Johnny Gaudreau (10 goals, 31 points this year) deflected in the winner 40 seconds into the extra session. Jack Roslovic (3 goals, 14 points) lit the lamp twice, adding two assists for Columbus, which has won just three of its past nine fixtures (3-5-1).
Goalie Elvis Merzlikins turned aside 33 shots on Sunday to take his current performance status to 4-7-0 for the season with a 4.83 GAA and a .862 save percentage. He has posted a 3-5-1 career total against the Florida Panthers with a 3.65 GAA and a .894 save percentage. The Blue Jac kets, meanwhile, are netting the 9th lowest number of goals per game this year (2.96), while conceding the 2nd highest amount in their defensive zone (4.07). They are bottom of the league in power play with a 14.7% conversion rate and 19th in penalty kill with 77.5% effectiveness.
