Both teams are looking to remain near the top of their divisions and their conferences and the upcoming game looks to be a great one as a result.
The Stars are having a great season with their offense leading the way and scoring 3.75 goals per game. Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Joe Pavelski have scored 44 goals and 59 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, and Mason Marchment have combined for 24 goals and 41 assists while defensemen Miro Heiskanen and Esa Lindell have added seven goals and 24 assists from the point to open up the offense.
The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.82 goals per game. Esa Lindell and Colin Miller have combined for 3.8 defensive point shares and 68 blocked shots while Miro Heiskanen and Jani Hakanpaa have combined for 3.0 defensive point shares to give the Stars two great defensive pairings. Moreover, goaltender Jake Oettinger is having a remarkable season with a .915 save percentage and a 2 .52 goals-against average on 556 shots.
