The UMass Minutemen try to keep their hot start going Sunday night when they face the Hofstra Pride. The Minutemen, of the Atlantic 10, are 7-2 on the season, while Hofstra, of the Colonial Athletic Association, comes in with a record of 6-4. This game is part of the eight-team Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It is the final game of four games on Sunday, with tipoff at 7:00 p.m. EST.

The Hofstra Pride play in the Colonial Athletic Association, but they are 6-4 in the nonconference portion of their schedule. After winning their first four games they got blown out by a very good St. Mary's team and then lost by 10 to Middle Tennessee State in a game that was a pick 'em. After wins over Greensboro and Quinnipiac, they fell to George Mason and got blown out by 19, but covered against No. 4 ranked Purdue in their last outing on Wednesday.

So, overall they have played a pretty tough schedule, the 31st hardest so far. They are ranked 129th in the KenPom power rankings. Aside from getting bludgeoned on the boards, the Pride held their own against Purdue. They have Amar'e Marshall to thank for that as he dropped 24 points in the 85-66 defeat. Darlinstone Dubar added 14 points and Tyler Thomas tossed in 10 points. Even more impressive is the Pride's best player Aaron Estrada did not play against Purdue. Estrada is the leader in scoring (21.7 ppg), rebounding (5-3 rpg), assist  (4.3 apg) and steals (1.8 spg) for Hofstra. He is not listed on the injury report for Sunday's game.
