The Evansville Purple Aces (3-8, 0-2 MVC) are on the road Saturday with a visit to Muncie, Indiana and Worthen Arena to play against the Ball State Cardinals (5-4, 0-0 MAC). Evansville snapped a three-game losing skid when defeating the Campbell Fighting Camels 72-66 on Wednesday. Yacine Toumi scored a team-best 18 points for Evansville. Ball State snapped a two-game losing streak, when defeating Eastern Illinois 76-59 on Wednesday. Mickey Pearson Jr scored 20 points to lead the Cardinals. Evansville and Ball State do not have any players on their respective injury reports.

Evansville is scoring an average of only 60.4 points per game with shooting the biggest reason why. The Purple Aces are shooting just 38.2% overall and 27.1% from behind the three-point line. Leading scorer Kenny Strawbridge Jr averages 15.8 points per game but is shooting only 37.8% overall and 20.0% from behind the line. Yacine Toumi is scoring an average of 10.8 points per game which is second-best on the team and shoots 46.7% overall but just 23.5% from long range. Marvin Coleman II is averaging a team-best 2.7 assists per game but Evansville averages just 10.1 assists as a team and is turning the ball over 11.7 times per game.

 

Evansville is allowing more than nine points more per game than the Purple Aces are scoring at 69.7 points per game. The Purple Aces are averaging 33.9 rebounds per game with Coleman the leadi ng rebounder with an average of 6.2 boards per contest, Coleman is also the leader in steals with an average of 1.3 per game, while Preston Phillips is averaging  a team best 0.5 blocks per game.
