The SMU Mustangs will play the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX. The 24th-ranked Frogs are 7-1 overall this season, with five consecutive wins. SMU is 3-6 following three consecutive losses. Both teams played Jackson State recently, with TCU defeating the Tigers by 27 points in its most recent game and SMU losing to JSU by one point two games ago. Texas Christian is an 11.5-point spread favorite, and the game total is 134.5 points.

TCU would be undefeated if it didn't blow a late lead at home to Northwestern State in its third game of the season. In that game, the Horned Frogs shot 35.6 percent from the floor and 2-of-21 from distance (9.5%). It was without a key contributor, senior guard Damion Baugh (12.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 5.0 APG), who was suspended. Since then, TCU has won each game by double digits, including a 13-point victory over 25th-ranked Iowa in the Emerald Coast Classic. It shot the ball much more efficiently (54.8%) versus the Hawkeyes, leading by as many as 23 points.

The Horned Frogs have wrapped up most of their non-conference slate, with upcoming games versus SMU, Utah, Mississippi Valley State, and Central Arkansas. Aside from a Big 12/SEC Challenge game against Mississippi State in late January, it will be all Big 12 conference matchups for the Horned Frogs, which means nine games against teams currently ranked in the top 25. Three of those games will be consecutive, with Baylor, Iowa State, and Texas looming in early January.

TCU is led in scoring by junior guard Mike Miles Jr., who is averaging 18.2 points on 49.2 percent shooting from the field this season. Senior forward Emanuel Miller (12.6 PPG and 5.4 RPG), junior guard Micah Peavy (10.0 PPG and 3.3 RPG), and senior forward Chuck O'Bannon Jr. (9.9 PPG and 4.1 RPG) are key contributors, as well.

The Horned Frogs score 74.9 points per game on 44.6 percent shooting. They are only hitting 27.5 percent of their attempts from three-point range. TCU's offensive efficiency rating, adjusted for schedule, is ranked 89th in the country, per KenPom. Its assist-to-turnover ratio is 1.29, the 46th-best ratio in the NCAA. Defensively, Texas Christian surrenders only 61.1 points on 38.5 percent shooting, including 30.0 percent from distance. Its defensive efficiency rating, adjusted for schedule, is the 21st-best in the nation.
