The Calgary Flames face the Toronto Maple Leafs with both teams looking to build off strong starts to the season. The Flames have a 13-10-3 and are in the middle of the Pacific Division while the Maple Leafs have a 17-5-6 record and with eight wins in their last 10 games, have leaped into second place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams are looking to continue to improve within their divisions and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Flames are off to a strong start to the season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.08 goals per game. Nazem Kadri, Tyler Toffoli, and Elias Lindholm have combined for 29 goals and 33 assists to lead the top two lines but the entire offense has stepped up. Jonathan Huberdeau, Adam Ruzicka, and Mikael Backlund have combined for 15 goals and 30 assists while defenseman Rasmus Andersson has added four goals and 16 assists from the point to help open up the offense.

While the defense has struggled all season, allowing 3.00 goals per game the unit has recently stepped up, allowing only 2.20 goals per game in their last five games. Nikita Zadorov and MacKenzie Weegar have combined for 3.4 defensive point shares and 69 blocked shots while Noah Hanifin, Chris Tanev, and Rasmus Andersson have combined for 3.7 defensive point shares to add depth to the defense. In addition, goaltender Dan Vladar h as stepped up in the net with a .912 save percentage and a 2.59 goals-against average on 283 shots.
