The Florida Panthers face the Tampa Bay Lightning with both teams looking to build off promising starts to the season. The Panthers have a 13-10-4 record while the Lightning have a 16-9-1 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games, have leaped into third place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams are looking to improve within the division and the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Panthers are having a promising season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.48 goals per game with 17 goals in the last four games. Matthew Tkachuk, Carter Verhaeghe, and Sam Bennett have scored 35 goals and 48 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart, and Eetu Luostarinen have combined for 19 goals and 31 assists while defensemen Brandon Montour and Gustav Forsling have added nine goals and 31 assists from the point to help open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.26 goals per game. Josh Mahura and Gustav Forsling have combined for 3.5 defensive point shares and 50 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is having an awful season with a .884 save percentage and a 3.51 goals-against average on 387 shots.
