Monday Night Football recap: Brady rallies Buccaneers to win vs. Saints, but fail to cover spread

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rallied to beat the New Orleans Saints 17-16 on Monday Night Football to wrap up NFL Week 13, but still failed to cover after closing as 3.5-point home favorites.

The Buccaneers kicked a field goal on the opening drive of the game and did next to nothing for the majority of the NFC South battle as the Saints led 16-3 with just over five minutes to play.

However, Tom Brady led two TD drives, including a 1-yard TD pass to Cade Otton with 3:00 remaining and then the game-winning 6-yard TD pass to RB Rachaad White with :03 left in regulation.

The game stayed well Under the betting total of 41 points.

NFL Week 13 betting stats

The Buccaneers’ victory improved favorites to 13-1-1 SU in NFL Week 13 (Commanders-Giants tied 20-20) though they dipped to 10-5 ATS with the underdog Saints covering the spread. The only outright upset of the weekend was by the Cincinnati Bengals in their 27-24 win vs. the Chiefs as 2.5-point home dogs. Home teams went 8-6-1 SU and 8-7 ATS on the week. Under led 8-7 while primetime Unders went 2-1 in the Thursday, Sunday and Monday night games.

NFL season-long betting stats

On the season, faves lead 122-67-2 SU with 4 games closing pick-'em, but dogs still lead 100-85-6 ATS (54.1%). Home teams lead 104-83-2 SU with 6 neutral-site games and 94-89-6 ATS (51.6%). Unders improved to 108-85-2 (56%) and primetime Unders improved to 21-18-1 (53.8%).
