The Los Angeles Kings face the Ottawa Senators with both teams hoping to improve from slow starts to the season. The Kings have a 13-10-4 record and have only won three of their last 10 games while the Senators have a 10-13-1 record and are in last place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams are looking to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Kings are having a promising season behind an offense that has stepped up and scored 3.37 goals per game with 15 goals in their last three games. Kevin Fiala and Anze Kopitar have scored 15 goals and 34 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also been great. Gabriel Vilardi, Phillip Danault, and Viktor Arvidsson have combined for 25 goals and 36 assists while Arthur Kaliyev, Trevor Moore, and Adrian Kempe have added 24 goals and 26 assists to the backend of the forward unit, giving the Kings multiple potent forward lines.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.59 goals per game. Drew Doughty and Michael Anderson have combined for 3.0 defensive point shares and 75 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and find open shots on the net. In addition, goaltender Jonathan Quick is having a rough season with a .888 save percentage and a 3.33 goals-against average on 534 shots.
