Both teams come into this game coming off blowout road losses against NFC opponents. The Jaguars were demolished 40-14 by the Detroit Lions, and the Titans were dismantled 35-10 by the Philadelphia Eagles.
While the Jaguars’ result was surprising, it didn’t the playoff picture as the Jaguars and Lions are not in contention. The Titans’ result means much more as they contend for seeding in the AFC playoffs to avoid a tough wild-card matchup.
The real issue for the Titans is the continued lack of ability to get RB Derrick Henry going in recent weeks. Henry only managed 2.7 yards per carry for 30 rushing yards on 11 carries against the Eagles. Tennessee will need to get its star back on track if it has any hope of progressing deep into the postseason.
