Best NHL player prop bets for Monday, 12/5

After a solid weekend on the ice, let's start out the new week just as strong. We've got 6 NHL games on deck, and we've broken down each matchup. Not only do we have picks and parlays across the board, we've also got our favorite player props. There's a matchup between the best in the west taking on the best in the east, but we've found value elsewhere. We've targeted 2 skaters in the Metro Division, so let's check them out.'

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Alex Ovechkin over 0.5 goals (+125)

Tonight's Washington Capitals vs Edmonton Oilers game features 2 of the best skaters to ever take the ice. We aren't paying the ridiculous Connor McDavid prices at home, and are instead backing Ovechkin on the road. The Caps as a team have struggled outside of Washington, but we're not concerned about them winning the game. All we're focused on is Ovechkin finding the back of the net, just like he did against the Oilers earlier this season. Ove also came through for us with this same prop last month, so let's show him the love once again.'

There's no reason to doubt him with the way the Oilers goaltending has been this year. McDavid and Leon Draisaitl may be able to make up for it at times, but Edmonton is allowing the 7th-most goals per game. However, it's been far worse lately. Over the last month, the Oilers are allowing the 3rd-most goals per game. They're sandwiched between the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks in that regard, which is never good company. Not only did Ove notch a goal against them already this season, he has 14 goals in 21 games against the Oilers in his career. He has T.J. Oshie back on the ice to assist him, which should help him inch closer to the all-time goals record and grab his 794th tonight.'
