The Rose Bowl will feature the Utah Utes entering a showdown against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Monday, January 2, 2023.
The Utes head into the matchup after winning 47-24 over the USC Trojans in their last outing on December 2. Their last time out, the Nittany Lions won 35-16 over the Michigan State Spartans. Against the Trojans, Cameron Rising led the Utes with 310 yards on 22-of-34 passing (64.7%) for three touchdowns and no interceptions. Ja’Quinden Jackson carried the ball 13 times for 105 yards (8.1 yards per carry) with two touchdowns on the ground. Money Parks had 88 yards on four catches (22.0 per reception) with one touchdown in that game. Sean Clifford went 19-for-24 with 202 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions for the Lions against the Spartans. Kaytron Allen carried the ball 21 times for 82 yards (3.9 yards per attempt). In the passing game, he added three catches for 24 yards. KeAndre Lambert-Smith caught five passes for 83 yards (16.6 yards per catch), scoring one touchdown.
The game between the Utes (-110 on the moneyline) and the Nittany Lions (-110) is currently set as a pick ’em. The over/under is set at 48.5 points.
