The Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders face off on Sunday in an NHL showdown at UBS Arena. When these two teams faced off on November 1st it was the Islanders that secured the 3-1 victory. 

The Blackhawks headed into Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers with a 6-12-4 record overall. On Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers the Blackhawks defense gave up five goals and that led to the one goal defeat. Max Domi had two goals and five shots on goal. Chicago is averaging 2.54 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.68 goals per game. The Blackhawks offense hasn’t been good enough this season and even though they have tired legs they need to find a way to get the offense going here. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Islanders who sit with a 15-10-0 record and they have gone 8-4-0 at home. On Friday against the Nashville Predators, the offense only scored one goal, and that led to the three goal defeat. Mathew Barzal finished with nine shots on goal and one goal. The Islanders are averaging 3.16 goals while their defense is giving up 2.64 goals per game. Mathew Barzal has been the top player for the Islanders scoring three goals and adding 24 assists.
