Carolina Hurricanes (13-6-5) vs. Los Angeles Kings (13-9-4)

The 2022-23 NHL betting action continues Saturday with this interconference battle when the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Los Angeles Kings at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

This is the third of a six-game road trip for the Carolina Hurricanes, who have won the first two games, including a 6-4 victory over St. Louis on Thursday. This is the final contest of a four-game homestand for Los Angeles that has seen the club go 1-0-2 through the first three games. These teams have not met this season, but Carolina took both contests last year.

Jordan Martintook scored a hat trick to help the Carolina Hurricanes (13-6-5, 10-14 ATS) defeat the St. Louis Blues, 6-4. St. Louis jumped out to a two-goal lead, only to see Carolina respond with three unanswered tallies. That sent the contest to the third period tied at three, but Martintook gave his team the lead for good with a little over four minutes left in the contest and added a goal with nine seconds left to complete the hat trick.

“[I'd] seen it hop over Parayko,” Martinook explained of the go-ahead goal. “It hopped over a stick and I had a little break. Their other D was closing quick so I just tried to get it off as quick as I could. The five-hole was the only place I could go and luckily it went in.”

With the victory, Carolina moves to 8-3-4 on the road and they are 3-0-3 in their last six road contests. The four goals allowed against St. Louis snapped a string of three straight games where the Hurricanes netminders allowed two goals. The combination of Pyotr Kochetkov (7-4-4, 2.30, .916), Antti Raanta (4-2-2, 2.62, .894), and Frederik Andersen (5-3-0, 2.72, .891) has been outstanding, as Carolina is ninth in goals allowed per game (2.79).
