The Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs face off on Monday in an MLB showdown at Wrigley Field.
The Washington Nationals come into this game with a 36-74 record overall but they are coming off another terrible loss on Sunday. The pitching staff was awful giving up 13 runs and that led to the defeat. The Nationals pitching overall is giving up 5.58 runs per game which is 30th in the league. The offense has also not been very good averaging 3.8 runs per game, and it’s even worse now with Juan Soto and Josh Bell are gone.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cubs who sit with a 43-64 record overall but they won two of the three games against the Miami Marlins over the weekend. Even though they won two games, the Cubs only scored six runs total during the three games. The Cubs are averaging 4.1 runs per game. In this game, the Cubs are going to need the offense to find success early in this game.
