The Dallas Mavericks invade the Scotiabank Arena to do battle with the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Celtics in a 125-112 road loss on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 42 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, Christian Wood tallied 26 points with 12 rebounds while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 15 points on six of eight shooting. As a team, the Mavericks shot 53 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line, but their struggles on the defensive end cost them again as they were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing the Celtics to explode for 70 points in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their past six games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting blown out by the Nets in a 112-98 loss on Wednesday. Gary Trent Jr. led the team with 19 points, OG Anunoby added 15 points while Thaddeus Young and Chris Boucher scored 12 points each. As a team, the Raptors shot just 35 percent from the field and seven of 29 from the 3-point line as they held the Nets to just 14 points in the second quarter to overcome an early 15-point deficit, only to see their hard work go down the drain in the third quarter where the Nets exploded for 39 points to run away with it in the end.
