The Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins face off on Friday in an NHL showdown at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. When these two teams faced off in April it was the Flyers that secured the 4-1 victory. 

The Penguins come into this game with a 10-7-3 record and away from home they have gone 6-5-2. On Wednesday against the Calgary Flames the defense was strong giving up only one goal and they were able to secure the victory in a shootout. The Penguins are averaging 3.55 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.25 goals per game. The offense is ranked 6th in the NHL, but the defense is going to need to improve if they want to continue their success. Sidney Crosby is having a strong season scoring 10 goals and adding 17 assists. Jason Zucker has also been a key and he has scored five goals and added 10 assists. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Flyers who sit with a 7-8-5 record and they have gone 4-4-1 at home. On Wednesday against the Washington Capitals, it took overtime, but they were able to secure a 3-2 victory. The Flyers are averaging 2.5 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.2 goals per game. Center Kevin Hayes has been the top player for the Flyers scoring five goals and adding 14 assists. There are five different players that have had at least 10 points so far.
