It was a head-scratching decision for a team that seems to lack direction for the future and is not close to postseason contention. The Rockies' top player C.J Cron (.276 AVG, 22 HR, 72 RBI), could have been a useful piece for a contender for sure.

The Rockies pitching staff is 28th overall with a 4.99 ERA, and Jose Urena (1-3, 4.66 ERA) will make the start on Sunday. He is 0-1 with a 4.12 ERA in five road games this season. The Colorado bullpen behind him is 29th with a 4.74 ERA.
