Georgia Tech vs. Georgia Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-26-2022

The No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs host their state rival, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday. The Bulldogs are a perfect 11-0 and 8-0 in the SEC, while the Yellow Jackets are 5-6 on the season and 4-4 in the ACC. Georgia has won 4 straight against the Yellow Jackets and they have all been blowouts, including a 45-0 win last season. Georgia is favored by 35 points in this one. Can the Bulldogs take care of business and cover?

The Georgia Bulldogs have gotten accustomed to blowing teams this season out so when they actually play a close game with someone, it is noteworthy. Last Saturday, the Bulldogs had their hands full with the Kentucky Wildcats, holding on for a 16-6 win. Georgia was a 22.5 point favorite over a Wildcats team that has been in the top 25 for most of the year, but only recently fell out. The win kept Georgia perfect at 11-0 overall and 8-0 in the SEC and allowed them to retain their No. 1 ranking in the country. It wasn't pretty, but it was a cold and windy day, so that may have had some impact.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 16-0 lead and that held until the fourth quarter when Kentucky scored on a Will Levis touchdown pass to Barion Brown. But the two point attempt failed and that was the end of the scoring. It was a fairly tight game as Georgia had the edge in yards 363 to 295 and first downs 19 to 17. They made 6 of 12 third down conversions and that made a huge difference. Kenny McIntosh led the Bulldogs with 143 yards rushing and a touchdown but Georgia  didn't do a whole lot on offense. Stetson Bennett was a perfunctory 13 of 129 for 116 yards with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Bulldogs rank 11th in scoring with 38.4 points per game and 1st in points against, giving up only 11 points per game.
