The McNeese State Cowboys will head up to Waco to face the Baylor Bears this Wednesday from the Ferrell Center on ESPN+. Baylor defeated McNeese State in their only meeting back in 2014, 80-39.
McNeese State improved to 2-3 after a win over longtime foe Lamar. The Cowboys pulled away from their former conference rivals in the second half to snap an early three-game skid, covering the eight-point spread on the head. McNeese is scoring 72.5 points per game, while shooting 43.8% from the field, and 32.8% from three.
Christian Shumate makes the biggest impact for the Cowboys. The 6’7 forward is averaging a double-double and leading McNeese State in scoring (12.8) and rebounding (10.6). Trae English hit five threes in the win over Lamar, and he’s now second on the team at 10.6 ppg.
