All four defeats were against strong foes, losing to the Hurricanes, Blues, Bruins, and were pegged with a 5-3 home loss against the Penguins in their previous action on Sunday night. All four losses were by two or more goals. Chicago is in a rebuild and will struggle to win games.
Patrick Kane ended a 10-game streak without a goal with his third marker of the season on Sunday. The 34-year-old playmaker hasn’t been as productive as in past seasons but part of that is due to his linemates. Kane has 14 points in 17 games. Max Domi has been a bright spot, recording four points in his last five games. The 27-year-old center has yet to score this month and has 12 points on the year. Captain Jonathan Toews has scored three goals this month and leads the squad with eight goals. The 34-year-old center had on e goal in two meetings against the Stars last season.

The Blackhawks have been sharing the duties between Arvid Soderblom and Petr Mrazek. Soderblom was in the net in Sunday's loss and has logged a 3.19 GAA and a .909 save %. Mrazek has only played six games and has struggled, posting a 3.66 GAA and an .889 save %. Chicago is scoring an average of only 2.4 goals, pegging them last. They are conceding an average of 3.4 goals, placing them 21st in the NHL.
