Los Angeles Lakers (5-10) vs. Phoenix Suns (10-6)

The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns lock horns Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, to tip off their four-game regular-season series. The Suns swept the Lakers in 2021-22 and shoot for their eighth straight victory over Los Angeles.

Both teams have injury worries ahead of Tuesday’s clash. LeBron James has missed the Lakers’ last four contests due to a left adductor strain, and Russell Westbrook is questionable to play against Phoenix because of a thumb injury. On the other side, the Suns are without Chris Paul (heel), while Landry Shamet (concussion) is listed as questionable.

The Los Angeles Lakers (5-10; 5-10 ATS) are back to winning ways despite missing LeBron James. Last Sunday, the Lakers routed the lowly San Antonio Spurs 123-92 to wrap up a four-game homestand and extend their winning streak to three games. They shot 52.9% from the field and 35.3% from downtown (12-for-34) while handing out 29 assists and tallying 60 points in the paint.

Anthony Davis dominated San Antonio, finishing with 30 points, 18 rebounds, and three steals on the night. Austin Reaves had 21 points and three assists, while the Lakers’ second unit added 53 points. Russell Westbrook posted a double-double of ten points and ten assists but also suffered a thumb injury that could force him out of Tuesday’s game in Phoenix.

“AD, he has to be the focal point ,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “He has to spearhead the charge. That's the way we're built. He's embraced it. When Bron gets back, if AD can sustain that level, we're going to be as good as our preparation makes us.”

Anthony Davis has been unstoppable in LeBron’s absence. He’s scored 30-plus points in three straight contests for the first time since March 2020. The Lakers still own the third-lowest offensive rating in the NBA, notching 108.1 points per 100 possessions. They rank 20th in the league in field goal percentage (46.1%) and 30th in 3-point percentage (31.2%).
