Carolina Hurricanes vs. Winnipeg Jets Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-21-2022

NFL Round Table Show

The Carolina Hurricanes face the Winnipeg Jets with both teams off to great starts to the season. The Hurricanes have a 10-5-3 record but are hoping to rebound from back-to-back overtime losses. The Jets have a 10-5-1 record and with seven wins in the last 10 games boast one of the best records in the Central Division. The Hurricanes are looking to improve in the Metropolitan Division while the Jets look to continue their strong start in the Central Division and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Hurricanes are having a great season but hope their offense can improve, scoring only 2.83 goals per game with only three goals in the last two games. Martin Necas, Sebastian Aho, and Andrei Svechnikov have scored 29 goals and 30 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only three skaters have scored five goals or more while only four active skaters have added six assists or more and opposing defenses can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has been one of the best in the NHL, allowing only 2.67 goals per game. Brady Skjei and Brett Pesce have combined for 3.1 defensive point shares and 40 blocked shots while Jaccob Slavin and Brent Burns have combined for 2.3 defensive point shares to give the Hurricanes two great defensive pairings. In addition, goaltender Antti Raanta has stepped up in the net with a  .902 save percentage and a 2.53 goals-against average on 183 shots.
