The Sacramento Kings play host to the Detroit Pistons at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday night.
The Detroit Pistons have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 14 of their first 17 games overall and they will be hoping to put a halt to a six-game slide after getting beaten by the Lakers in a 128-121 road loss on Friday. Alec Burks led the way with 23 points off the bench, Bojan Bogdanovic added 20 points with six rebounds and five assists while Killian Hayes tallied 18 points with nine assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 46 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 37 points in the first quarter to open an early 14-point lead, but they couldn’t maintain that pace and eventually learned their fate in the fourth quarter where the Lakers used a 16-6 run to pull away in the end.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be gunning for a sixth straight victory after routing the slumping Spurs in a 130-112 home win on Thursday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 28 points and eight assists on 11 of 15 shooting, Malik Monk added 26 points off the bench while Harrison Barnes and Domantas Sabonis each scored 16 points. As a team, the Kings shot a healthy 57 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before exploding for 41 points in the fourth quarter to make it a blowout.
