The New York Knicks invade the Footprint Center to battle the Phoenix Suns on Sunday afternoon.
The New York Knicks have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past five games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting stopped by the Warriors in a 111-101 road loss on Friday. Julius Randle led the way with 20 points, RJ Barrett added 18 points with five assists while Jalen Brunson chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Knicks shot just 34 percent from the field and nine of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and were always fighting an uphill battle after getting outscored by 35-19 in the first quarter to trail by as many as 22 points. Brunson shot just two of 13 from the field while Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley each shot zero of five from the field.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in a rut as they’ve lost three of their past four games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling painfully short to the Jazz in a 134-133 road loss on Friday. Devin Booker led the team with a season-high 49 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, DeAndre Ayton and Cameron Payne scored 17 points each while Torrey Craig chipped in with 16 points on six of 10 shooting. As a team, the Suns shot 52 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to rally all the way back from a 19-point deficit, only to fall just short in the end as the Jazz slipped away.
