The Philadelphia Flyers (7-7-3, 17 points, T-5th Metropolitan) will be in search of their first victory in the last six games when visiting the Montreal Canadiens (8-8-1, 17 points, 6th Atlantic) losers of two straight, on Saturday. The Flyers were defeated by the Boston Bruins 4-1 on Thursday night for their fifth consecutive loss. Montreal lost its second straight when falling to the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-4 on Thursday. Philadelphia has several players on its injury list with the most notable Cam Atkinson, Patrick Brown, Sean Couturier and James Van Riemsdyk, while Travis Konecny is questionable. Montreal will play without Paul Byron, Jonathan Drouin, Mike Matheson and Carey Price while Joel Armia is questionable

The Philadelphia Flyers are scoring an average of 2.47 goals per game which is 31st in the NHL. The Flyers are averaging 29.6 shots per game which is 26th and the power play for Philadelphia is scoring 17.3% of the time the Flyers have the man advantage which is only 26th. Philadelphia's Travis Konecny is the leading goal scorer with seven, but is listed as questionable for Saturday. Kevin Hayes is the leader in assists with 13 and second in points with 17, just two behind Konecny’s team high 19. Philadelphia has scored only 10 power-play goals in 17 games.

 

Philadelphia is allowing an average of only 3.06 goals per game which is 14th in the NHL but with the Flyers scoring so few goals, the results have not been good. Philadelphia's allowing an average of 34.3 shots per game which is 27th and the penalty-ki ll unit for the Flyers is 22nd, successfully holding opponents scoreless 76.0% of the time that Philadelphia is shorthanded.
