The Cleveland Cavaliers play host to the Charlotte Hornets at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Friday night.
The Charlotte Hornets have been in a major slump as they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Pacers in a 125-113 loss on Wednesday. LaMelo Ball led the way with 26 points and six assists, PJ Washington added 24 points while Terry Rozier and Kelly Oubre Jr. each scored 17 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Pacers in a close contest, until the fourth quarter where they got outscored by 35-23 to allow the Pacers to slip away.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the surprise team of the league at the start of the season, but they are now on a five-game losing streak after getting thrashed by the Bucks in a 113-98 road loss on Wednesday. Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell each scored 23 points, Evan Mobley added 20 points on nine of 14 shooting while Lamar Stevens chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 42 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Bucks until the went ice-cold and scored just 18 points in the third quarter to fall behind by as many as 20 points.
