San Jose Sharks vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-15-2022

San Jose Sharks (5-9-3) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (13-3-0)

The 2022-23 NHL season goes on Tuesday, November 15, with the Pacific Division showdown from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. San Jose meets Vegas for the second time this season, and the Golden Knights outlasted the Sharks 4-2 as -165 road favorites on October 25.

Vegas opens as a firm -240 moneyline fave this time around. San Jose is listed as a +214 road underdog, while the totals sit at 6.5 goals.

The San Jose Sharks will wrap up a four-game road trip at T-Mobile Arena. After a 5-3 defeat at St. Louis, the Sharks have won two in a row at Dallas 5-4 and Minnesota 3-2 in a shootout. Last Sunday, San Jose outshot the Wild 37-30 and fully deserved a victory as big +180 underdogs. The Sharks erased a two-goal deficit in the third period, while Alexander Barabanov scored the winner in the fifth round of a shootout.

“We could have easily got really down and packed it in after we went down 2-0 and we didn’t. We kept coming,” Sharks coach David Quinn said. “I know they probably don’t love the second goal, but we don’t love their second goal either. … We really competed and that was a nutsy win.”

James Reimer posted 28 saves last Sunday and recorded his second straight win. He’s 4-5-2 with a 2.88 GAA and .908 save percentage this season, while Kaapo Kahkonen is 1-4-1 with a 3.70 GAA and .878 save percentage. The Sharks haven’t announced who’ll guard the cage Tuesday against Vegas.

San Jose ranks 22nd in the league in goals against (3.35 per game) and 27th in goals for (2.71). The Sharks have only allowed four power-play goals on 44 attempts, but they’ve also converted just nine of their 48 power-play opportunities. Keep your eyes on defenseman Erik Karlsson, who’s already notched ten goals and 12 assists in 2022-23. He hasn’t found the back of the net in four straight ga mes while posting four dishes in the process.
