George Washington vs. Hofstra Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-14-2022

George Washington will go on the road for the first time this season when it faces Hofstra on Monday night. The Colonials have got off to a 2-0 start with wins over Virginia State and Howard. Hofstra is off to a perfect start as well, beating Princeton and Iona.

George Washington is looking to build on its nice start to the year, beating Virginia State and Howard. There was no Vegas line in their 85-58 win over Virginia State, but the Colonials covered the 6-point spread in their win over Howard. They have had a very balanced scoring output so far, with five players scoring in double figures. Senior guard James Bishop IV leads the way with 16.0 points and 7.0 assists per game, shooting 41.7% from the floor. Freshman guard Maximus Edwards has made an immediate impact, averaging 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds. Senior guard Brendan Adams (14.5), senior forward Ricky Lindo Jr. (11.5) and senior forward Hunter Dean (11.5) are the other double-digit scorers.

They have been one of the hottest shooting teams in the country to open the season, ranked No. 11 out of 363 Division I teams in effective field goal percentage (63.3). Their 2-point shooting percentage (67.9) ranks sixth nationally. Their primary issue on the offensive end has been a turnover rate that is No. 211, but they are facing a Hofstra defense that is No. 331 in turnover rate. George Washington does not play at a particularly fast pace, ranked No. 253 in average possession length. The Colonials have been very profitable from a betting standpoint dating back to last season, covering the spread in 11 of their last 15 games.
