The Arizona Coyotes face the New York Rangers with both teams looking to improve from rocky starts to the season. The Coyotes have a 6-7-1 record while the Rangers have a 7-6-3 record and are coming off a rough 2-1 defeat. The Coyotes are looking to improve in the Central Division while the Rangers look to gain ground in the Metropolitan Division and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Coyotes have looked promising this season but hope the offense can improve, scoring only 2.85 goals per game. Clayton Keller, Matias Maccelli, and Lawson Crouse have scored 11 goals and 21 assists while defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere is adding four goals and six assists from the blue line but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four skaters have scored four goals or more while only five skaters have scored six goals or more and opposing defenses can limit the offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has let the Coyotes down, allowing 3.54 goals per game. Juuso Valimaki and J.J. Moser have combined for 1.5 defensive point shares and 40 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Furthermore, goaltender Connor Ingram has been awful in the net with a .874 save percentage and a 4.42 goals-agai nst average on 111 shots.
