Circa contest update for NFL Week 10
Circa contest update for NFL Week 10

Circa Sports Million heads into the second half of the 18-week NFL season after releasing the selections from its 4,691 contestants for NFL Week 10.

This also starts the 3rd Quarter for contestants, which runs from Week 10 through 13. This isn’t chump change that’s up for grabs as THE ANTEATERS-1 just collected $150,000 for having the top record of 20-4-1 on Weeks 5-9 (with SERGIOS-2 earning $25,000 for the 2nd Quarter Booby Prize by going 3-20-2 for the worst record.

Overall at the midway mark, TAIL PARTY-2 is the leader at 33-11-1 (75%). They went 1-3-1 in Week 9, but had built up a big enough lead that no one was able to catch them yet.

Circa Sports owner Derek Stevens, VP Mike Palm and Jeffrey Benson made their regular appearance on VSiN’s “The Football Contest Show” (8-9 p.m. ET/5-6 p.m. PT each Saturday after the contest deadline of 4 p.m. PT) and released the Top 5 consensus plays in both Circa Sports Million and Circa Survivor.

In Circa Sports Million, the Top 5 Most-Selected teams for NFL Week 10 are the Seahawks +3 vs. the Buccaneers in Germany, Steelers +1.5 vs. the Saints, Bears -3 vs. the Lions, Browns +3.5 at the Dolphins and Titans -2.5 vs. the Broncos.

A fair share of the conversation was on the Bills -3.5 vs. the Vikings as Circa posts its contest lines at 10 a.m. PT each Thursday and that was the current line as most reports were indicating that Buffalo QB Josh Allen wasn’t going to play. The news broke Saturday afternoon (around 1;30 p.m. PT) that it looks like Allen is going to start after all, so some Circa Sports Million entrants were able to use that to their (supposed) advantage with the static contest line (doesn’t change for contest purpose) as the line went back up to Bills -6.5.

When the dust settled, 850 players took the Bills -3.5 in Circa Sports Million with 735 on the Vikings. It’s assumed many players had already submitted their plays (or their proxies had put in their plays) before the news.

There are 115 live entries left in the $6.133 million Circa Survivor. After Week 7, there were 125 left, but only two were eliminated in Week 8 and only eight in Week 9, including six by CrushEmSports (alias of Bob DeLuca, who had become a regular guest on VSiN) in the Bills’ 20-17 loss at the Jets as it was the last entrant with all six original entries alive.

In Week 10, the Chiefs were chosen by 36 entrants, followed by the 49ers (30), Giants (17), Raiders (10) and Eagles (10). That’s the Top 5, but we might as well list them all as there were only 10 teams used overall with 8 the Bears and 1 apiece on the Steelers, Dolphins, Titans and Saints.
