The Denver Nuggets invade the United Center to do battle with the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night.
The Denver Nuggets have been in great shape to start the season as they’ve won eight of their first 12 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back after having their four-game win streak snapped by the Celtics in a 131-112 road loss on Friday. Nikola Jokic led the way with 29 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Aaron Gordon added 17 points, Bruce Brown added 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists while Jamal Murray chipped in with 14 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they poured in 34 points in the third quarter to claw back from a nine-point halftime deficit, only to get blown away in the fourth quarter by 34-21.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in a rut as they’ve lost three of their past four games and they will be looking for a better result after falling just short to the Pelicans in a 115-111 loss on Wednesday. DeMar DeRozan led the way with 33 points on 14 of 26 shooting, Zach LaVine added 23 points while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 18 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Bulls shot 50 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line as they started to pull away from a close contest in the third quarter where they built an 11-point lead, but they couldn’t contain the Pelicans who exploded for 36 points in the fourth quarter thanks to a surge from Brandon Ingram.
