Dallas Stars vs. Philadelphia Flyers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-13-2022

Dallas will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak when it travels to Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. The Stars had won three straight games before losing to Winnipeg and San Jose in their last two games. Philadelphia lost to Columbus on Thursday and was scheduled to face Ottawa on Saturday—this story was published prior to that matchup.

Dallas put together a solid regular season last year before blowing a 2-1 series lead and getting bounced by Calgary in Game 7 of the Western Conference First Round in the playoffs. The Stars were able to get that bad taste out of their mouth early this season, winning three straight games and four of their first five to open the season. They have not been able to find a consistent level though, as they lost three of their next four games before winning three straight last week. Dallas’ inconsistency has popped up as an issue again this week, as it has dropped games to Winnipeg and San Jose.

The Stars were -120 favorites in their 5-1 blowout loss to the Jets, and they were heavy -235 favorites in their 5-4 loss to the Sharks. San Jose entered that contest on a five-game losing streak, but it scored three consecutive goals between the second and third periods to take a 5-2 lead. Dallas got a pair of goals late in the contest from Roope Hintz and Joe Pavelski, but it was unable to find an equalizer in the final minutes. Goalie Jake Oettinger made his first start since the end of October due to a lower body injury, allowing five goals on 18 shots. Scott Wedgewood has gone 3-3-1 with a 3.21 GAA in seven appearances, so it is unclear who is going to get the start on Sunday.
