The Detroit Red Wings and Los Angeles Kings face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at Crypto.com Arena. Earlier this year when these two teams faced off it was the Kings that won 5-4 in overtime. 

The Red Wings sit with a 7-4-3 record overall but they are coming off a terrible loss in the last game. The defense really struggled against the New York Rangers giving up eight goals, and that led to the six-goal defeat. At the end of the second period, the game was 2-2, but the defense gave up six goals in the third period. The Red Wings offense is averaging 2.93 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.21 goals per game. The offense is ranked 19th while the defense is ranked 18th. Dominik Kubalik has had a nice season and he has scored six goals and added 10 assists. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Kings who sit with a 9-6-1 record overall. On Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks it took overtime, but they were able to secure the 2-1 victory. Phillip Danault had a nice game finishing with one goal, one assist, and five shots on goal. The Kings are averaging 3.18 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.38 goals per game. The offense is ranked 15th in the league while their defense is ranked 21st. Gabriel Vilardi has scored 10 goals and added five assists.
