Carolina Hurricanes (9-4-1) vs. Colorado Avalanche (7-4-1)

The 2022-23 NHL betting action continues Saturday with this interconference battle when the Carolina Hurricanes travel to take on the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

Carolina defeated Edmonton on Thursday, 7-2, while Colorado knocked off Nashville on Thursday, 5-3, winning their third straight game. This is the first meeting between these teams this season. The clubs split the two-game set last year with the home team winning both contests.

The Carolina Hurricanes (9-4-1) downed Edmonton on Thursday, 7-2. The Hurricanes are 6-8 ATS and are 5-2-1 on the road. The Hurricanes held a one-goal advantage coming out of the first period but scored three goals in the second and third frames to blow this game open. Andrei Svenchnikov led the way, scoring a hat trick, giving him 11 goals on the season.

“It's special for sure to be at home and score my 100th goal,” Svechnikov said. “It's been amazing.”

Pyotr Kochetkov made his season debut and performed well, stopping 20 shots. Frederik Andersen is out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury, so it could very well be Kochetkov back between the pipes for this contest. The coaching staff does not seem concerned after his solid performance on Thursday.

“I really liked [Kochetkov's] game,” Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour said. “He came in in a tough spot against a high-powered team and he made some huge saves. That's the difference in the game there early and we kind of settled in.”
