Houston at Saint Joseph's – 11/11/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Houston Cougars and the St. Joseph’s Hawks will meet in Alumni Hall in Annapolis this Friday evening for the Veterans' Classic on CBSS. This will mark the first meeting between these two programs.

Houston handled Northern Colorado in their season opener. The Cougars put their vintage rugged style on the Bears in the first half, before pouring it on en route to a 47-point victory. Kelvin Sampson’s team shot 44% from the floor, hit 11/29 from deep, and forced 23 turnovers in the win over Northern Colorado.

Marcus Sasser’s return was felt immediately in game one. The senior guard was off to a great start last season, but he went down before the start of conference play. Sasser scored 21 points and hit four threes in his first taste of game action, and he looks ready to lead the charge this season. Jamal Shead blossomed in his absence as the leader of this team and he’s a gamer at point guard. Shead plays strong on both sides of the ball, and he’s not afraid of the big shot. The 6’1 guard scored nine points and dished out nine dimes in the opener. Fellow junior guard Tramon Mark also returned from injury, and added six points and five boards.
