Garoppolo led the 49ers to a 24-9 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4. That was his second straight start after taking over for the injured Trey Lance. San Francisco improved to 2-2 both straight up and against the spread.
The Panthers may be wishing they had traded for Garoppolo rather thank Mayfield in the offseason. The former first overall pick is 1-3 with his new team after a 26-16 loss t o the Arizona Cardinals last week.
